Tidbit Tuesday

Since school has started our evening are filed with going to get a snack and then coming home and playing and then supper, then baths and bedtime. With Kailey and Zach getting up so early our evening can get a little hectic with tired babies. So keeping them busy until bedtime can be a challenge. Our evenings are getting cooler so the kids are enjoying the time outside playing with each other.

Trying to catch sister. Zach is so fast in the walker he is a crazy man in it.

He caught here. Kailey really thought it was funny that Zach was chasing her.

TWINS

This past weekend we finally made to go see the new additions to the Minyard Family. Justin and Felicia had their twins almost a month ago. One boy and one girl. Jack Wayne and Addison Claire. Going to see the babies was one of Kailey's bribes that I had to give this last week to have Kailey to go to school. I told her if she went to school all week and did good that we would go see the twins. So we headed out to Greensburg Saturday afternoon and finally got to see the twins.
Mike and Jack

Kailey and Addison. Kailey really wanted to hold them together but it might of been much.

Jack and Kailey. Kailey had fun seeing the twins and playing with their big sister Brooke. Kailey came home and secretly told Aunt Ash that she wished her mom would have twins. Ha. Ha.

First Week of School

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday. Kailey isn't the school going type I guess. Which is suprising because she is very smart and loves pretending that she is going to school. It took about two months to stop crying last year and I am hoping this year its not the same. She isn't a morning person so she is usually pretty cranky in the morning no matter what you do. Monday she cried and came out and told me that she cried twice and but then she calmed down and had so much fun. She didn't stop talking about school until she went to bed. Tuesday she cried and came out of school and said that she had fun but she couldn't find her friend and started crying but she had fun but her and her friend got into trouble for not listening and they can't set by each other anymore. Wednesday she didn't cry she said that she was a big girl and she liked school so I thought finally maybe she will be okay and like school. Well today she didn't cry either but she cried after I dropped her off because she missed me. So I am so looking forward to the weekend for a little break of bribing her every morning. It quite exhausting. Not to mention Mike has been working long hours and I have been doing morning route and bedtime route by myself with two kids. Tomorrow I got cookies for her to take for her birthday that was last week. So hopefully tomorrow will go smoothly but she is already playing the I'm sick card so she says that her throat hurts, which it might because of her allergies. So I have a feeling this is going to be a long year. Next week we should be getting a call from her soccer coach. I think I am alittle more excited about her starting soccer but hopefully it will go smoothier than school.

Weekend at the Barnes

This weekend, Randy and Amber and Clay come home to do a dedication at Mike's Family church. So Randy and Amber came Saturday and hung out a little while and then we went to supper and ate Mexican food. Sunday we went to Gage and went to Clay's dedication. I didn't get any pictures because the preacher made us stand up there with them. After church we went to Nana's Barnes house and ate lunch and had more baby time. Kailey loves holding Clay. I ask her why she was so nice to Clay and mean to her brother and she said because she wants to trade. Zach has out grew Kailey and Kailey can't hold Zach anymore without him biting her or pulling her hair. She couldn't get enough of Clay. She is quite the mother hen.

First Day of School

Kailey first day of school yesterday was an adventure. Pre-k for another year. I didn't want her to go to kindergarten until she was 6. But I am glad we held her back. She was grown up so much during the summer and was ready for school. She was very excited to start school in the new Early Childhood Center. She got Mrs. Williams. Last year it was kind of a rocky start with the teacher, just say she wasn't our favorite teacher. But this year I requested Mrs. Williams so I am happy. I ask her how her first day went and if she liked her teacher, and she said," Oh ya much better she is so nice."

Lunch in hand and ready to go. She is a picky eater so she will probably be taking a lunch everyday, so I can see how much she eats. Which today she came home and said that she wasn't hungry and didn't eat anything. I wasn't to happy with her. So hopefully she will do better next week.

Okay there is big problem on 34th Street. The school was obvious not prepared for 679 students in the new building. So traffic was terrible. Didn't think living in a small town we would have a traffic problem but we do and hopefully they resolve it soon.
Almost there.
After 45 minutes we are finally in "school zone". Almost there and then we had to park our vehicle on the side of the road and walk a mile across a pasture with a 23lb child on my hip and two bags of school supplies and we finally made it to the building. Whoo.

The First Day
I gave you a little wink and smile
As you entered my room today
For I know how hard it is to leave
And know your child must stay.
You've been with her for 4 years now
And have been a loving guide,
Bust now, the time has come
To leave her at my side.
Just know that as you drive away
And the tears down your cheeks may flow
I'll love her as I would my own
And help her her learn and grow.
For as a parent, I too know
How quickly years do pass
Because one day I hand my turn
To take my child to class.
So please put your mind at ease
And cry those tears no more
For I will love her and take her in
When you leave her at my door.

Mrs. Williams The traffic after school wasn't any better. We didn't leave the house until 2:30 because Zach doesn't like his car set and I didn't want to wait in a still vehicle for an hour.

Finally asleep after I pulled out the Elmo dvd and we finally got Kailey in car an hour later. I know ridiculous.

Kailey went to Mandi's after school for cookies.

Kailey skinned up her knee again on the first day of school. She did it last year on the first day of school. She is she her dad's kid definitely. Kailey had a "good" day at school. She said that's all she going to say that it was good. She doesn't let me know much and when I ask her she just short answers me so I guess it's not any of my business.LOL. But today she did say she had fun and cried alittle bit but had fun. This morning wasn't very fun, she didn't want to get up and she was cold and her knee hurt and she didn't want to go to school because she missed me to much. So I think bedtime is going to be 8 because she was in bed by 9 and was still cranky this morning. Hopefully tough love will pay off and she will be okay. It didn't help that Zach was up to and was cranky and cried until I picked him up. I hate that Mike has to be a work so early it would be nice to have his help. It is going to be adjusted for all of us. Zach was on good schedule and know it is all screwed up so he was in bed at 8:30 last night and was up at 6:00 this morning. Well I lived and learned because he is not allowed to go to bed before 9:00 again. So he is taking a late second nap. So it could be a long year.

I have a 5 year old in my house!

Kailey is 5 as of yesterday. After a day of running around she ended up having a great birthday. First we started out and had lunch and starting making her yearly birthday cake. She always wants me to make her cake, not sure why I'm no Betty Crocker. But she enjoys helping me out. So when Zach was down for his nap we starting baking " out of a box". Then after Zach's nap we took him to Grandma Vassar's house and Kailey and I went and got pedicures. She loves getting pedicures. They went ahead and polished her nails to, but they don't last long because she bits her nails. I think she had one hand that had polish on it still this morning. Then after the pedicure we headed to meet the teacher. She got Mrs. Williams. I hope this year is better than last year, it was kind of rocky start last year. Then Kailey wanted to go to eat at the new Braums and then we made a trip to the Texas Carnival. She loves the carnival rides. Then we headed home and had cake and ice cream and opened more presents then it was way past bedtime to get ready for her first day of school. Kailey having lunch with her doll Maci.
Yummy Cake, good job helping mom with your cake.
Our Masterpiece.
Kailey is my baby and I can't believe she is 5. She keeps asking me if she is really 5 so I think she is also have a hard time believing she is 5. She has grown up so fast in the last year. Going the first year of pre-k and being a big sister. She is very independent in many things. She has no patience for anything. She is very comical and a teaser. She has a bulling issue sometimes. She is a hermit and doesn't like leaving the house. She could stay in side and watch cartoons all day and she would be fine with that. I don't think I am going to have to worry about her moving away from me when she gets older. She is a great big sister, she loves Zach. She a hugger. She has two left feet and is very clumpy. She is goes by the rules and lets you know when you are breaking them. She is on this big kick of recycling and lets you know that you are wasting things, my little green girl. She is very sassy in her ways and very spoiled by everyone. She is our princess.
Development: She has grown a foot since last year. She is 48 inches tall and 45 lbs thin. She is wearing size 6 in clothes and size 12 in shoes. Her hair is growing back out since I chopped it off last spring. She says she isn't cutting it again. Which we will see, she has this new thing of chewing on her hair so I keep threatening her that I am going to chop it off. She got new glasses once again. Third pair so far, pink ones this year. Everyone loves them. She let me know that she knows that she can count to 27 and she knows all her alphabets and she is very good in math. She loves her leapster, which helps her out with her skills. She got a new "i phone" a barbie one and loves it. She is really wanting to learn how to read. She told me that's what she is going to learn this year in school. Good luck with that. She doesn't have patience. My mom got her a Tag for her birthday and it has already been throw across the room. She has came out of her shell alittle bit. She loves ordering her own food at restaurants and speaks up better when she is talking to someone. She has learned how to swim this summer with swimming lessons. I think one more lesson and she will be a good swimmer. She is growing up so fast. She is lets me know that is old know. I think she might be going on 16 instead of 6.
Kailey always excited to get a pedicure.

Going to the Texas Carnival
Loves riding the rides.

Opening more presents, mostly new school clothes.
She got her Justin Bieber poster. So where are we going to hang it?
My baby is such a sweet loving daughter. I love her very much and would do anything for her. She started school today and it was bit too quite but it was nice to hear she had a good day and was very excited, that only means one thing she is all grown up. I love you Kailey Sue.

Almost 5

This last weekend we had Kailey's 5th birthday. Her birthday is Wednesday and she can't wait to be the big 5. We rented the Boiling Springs Pool for a couple of hours. Kailey really had a blast with all of her friends and cousins. This years party theme was Barbie. I made the girls flip flops and had rings and boas and ear rings for their goody bags.

The girls goody bags. I used my cricut and put their initial on the bags. The girls loved them.

Everyone had a good time swimming. It was nice to have the whole swimming pool to ourselves. We had it in the morning so it wasn't to bad. It was Zach nap time so he was not wanting to have much with the water.

Kailey had a good party this year she just wished it would of lasted a little longer, which I agree it was kind of a rush to get everything done and enjoy it.

Kailey's party guest. The kids enjoying the hot dogs.

Kailey's beautiful Barbie Cake. Kailey loved it.
Kailey was overwhelmed with gifts. She has been playing nonstop since her birthday party with all her gifts. She told me that she got so much that she can't decide what to play with and maybe she should take some of her toys to Nana's house because she had so many. I agree the kid is spoiled and has way to many toys.

Kailey was excited to get her Toy Story 3 Ken barbie.

My daughter has Beiber Fever, she loved her new shirt that her Aunt Ash got her. She was going to wear the other day and I told her that it was school clothes and she couldn't wear it until school started. She told me that she couldn't wear it to school because then everyone would know that she loves Justin Beiber.

Kailey got a new swing set for her birthday from Mike and I and I printed off a picture of it and put it in a card. She was so excited about it. Mike put it up the next day and she loves it. Kailey is super excited about her birthday day. She has been counting down the day. One thing she says she is going to do it is go to sleep by herself without me rocking her. We will see how that goes. Today we are going to the opening of her new school and tomorrow on her birthday we have a big day, we have to meet her new teacher and go to the Carnival and have a birthday dinner and cake for her and open more presents and make it to bed in time to get a good time rest of the the first day of school.

Tidbit Tuesday

Well our summer is coming to a close and in a couple of weeks Kailey will be back in school. This summer has gone so fast. I don't know if it because I have been sick most of the summer or it was just that it was way to short. I think I have been sick every month this summer. June it was strep and double infection and July it was the stomach bug and August with a so called sinus infection. I am not usually sick so I am ready to be well. Kailey, Zach and I all have a bad cold and are not very productive. We are all on antibiotics since Saturday and Zach seems to be getting better just a little cough, Kailey isn't any better. She has an ear ache and can't breath and coughing and I am not feeling any better either. So I might call another doctor tomorrow and see if I can get Kailey in. Saturday we are having Kailey's birthday party so hopefully we start feeling better soon. I have to get things ready for her birthday and I haven't attempted anything yet so I have a lot to do. It is so hot outside so I don't think we really missing anything, I think everyone is ready for some Fall weather. I know I am. Kailey got signed up to play Fall soccer and I am excited to watch her play, not really getting up every Saturday morning but it will be good for us to get out of the house. Zach has been practicing on his walking today, he is a little wobbly but he isn't afraid to fall. So I guess I will attempt to get somethings done, Zach is playing so maybe I can sneak away and get the laundry changed without a follower.

10 months

Zach is now 10 months. He is a crawling machine and is everywhere. He is all boy and is always on the move. We have put up gates and had to shut the doors to the rooms. He loves to play on the kitchen floor. Not sure why, I guess it is because he makes noise when his hands hit the floor. He is picking up everything he can find and puts to his mouth. He has his first cold his week. We went to the local Urgent Care and said that he has a sinus infection but not sure if they were right because we all have the cough and congestion and sore throat. Development: He is 23lbs and I'm sure how tall but I'm he is above average. His hair is thickening and is getting darker but still has a red tint to it.

Milestones: He is crawling and he is also pulling up as of last Friday the 6th. He pulled up to get him some chocolate cake at Mandi birthday party. He has graduated to number 4 diapers. He has said Nana I think a couple of times. Oh the big one today, I started this post early today and had to quit because of the kids so I am posting now while they are in bed, but in the mean while Zach starting WALKING :( . I am a little sad because he is walking sooner than Kailey did but he took his first steps to his Nana Eckels this evening. He will probably be walking good by the end of the week. He kind of runs instead of walks but he is trying very hard to do it by himself.
Routine: He is eating everything in site and still has 6-8 oz of milk a feeding. He is still on the same routine but he is taking a morning nap instead of an afternoon one. The only way it seems to get him to go down for an afternoon nap is to go for a ride in the car or just put him in his crib. He is in bed by 9:30 or his is a grump. So we have to be home or on our way home to get him in bed. He is sleeping better through the night. He has a couple of nights that he wakes up a couple of times but not to bad. Events: We went to the city for a mini vacation and he had his first night in a motel. He slept in his back in play and did well. We went shopping and saw baby Clay and did well for his first vacation. He also we to the water park for the first time. He loved it, he played in the little pool area and kept on trying to plug the water with is fingers. He went to his first Woodward Elks Rodeo. He loved it and set there and watch the whole thing. He also we to his first Rodeo parade. It was alittle hot but he had a good time.I think that is all he has done this month. He is growing up to fast. He loves going outside and being with his Dad. He has starting to get into everything, he likes to get into the cabinets and play with the pans and canned goods. He still has a temper and lets you know when he is not happy. He loves to attack Kailey and bit her and pull her hair. He loves his big sis. He loves to get up in the morning and watch Elmo. This next month will be adjustment with Kailey going back to school so it will be interesting to see how our schedule will change and how Zach will adjust not having Kailey around all day.
